Paul Pike was sitting in his van when he was shot at traffic lights
A 24-year-old man has been arrested by detectives hunting the killer of a man who was shot at traffic lights on Merseyside.
Paul Pike was in a red van in Crosby Road North, Waterloo, on 5 June when a gunman opened fire from an Audi TT.
The 23-year-old, from Belle Vale, was pronounced dead at the scene after the shooting, which police described as a targeted attack.
Detectives are holding a man from Netherley on suspicion of murder.
"The man who was arrested earlier this afternoon has been taken to a police station on Merseyside where he will be interviewed," said a spokeswoman.
Car returned
Merseyside Police have previously said that Mr Pike was known to them and they believe it was a targeted shooting.
It is thought the silver Audi TT pulled alongside the red Ford Transit at 2320 BST on the evening of 5 June.
Shots were fired into the van before the car turned and came back towards the van, firing more shots.
The Audi - which had been stolen from Hawden in North Wales - was found burnt out in Fairfield Street, Waterloo, soon after.
