A man has stolen a puppy from the garden of a house in Dundee in what police called an "unusual theft".
The six-month-old Staffordshire bull terrier was taken from a garden in Buttars Loan sometime between 1100 and 1530 BST on Wednesday.
A man was seen lifting the dog from the garden before driving off in a small hatchback car with a woman.
The dog has a shiny dark charcoal coat. His two front paws are white and he has a small white patch on his chest.
Police said the man was aged about 40, of stocky build, 5ft 2in tall and with short, light brown hair. He was wearing a fawn-coloured blazer.
The woman was also about 40, of slim build and with long fair hair tied back in a pony tail.
The pair left with the dog in a three-door hatchback, believed to be blue. The car was seen driving off in the direction of South Road.
Police have asked anyone with information to contact them.
