Fans needed to book free tickets for the arena in advance
Football fans who watched Friday night's England match against Algeria at Manchester's Castlefield Arena have been praised for their behaviour.
Security around the big screen was reviewed after there was fighting during the match against USA last week.
Fans need to book free tickets but once inside the arena there are three big screens, an artificial beach and bars.
Manchester City Council said fans "did the city proud" and the only disappointment was the match result.
Mike Amesbury, executive member for culture and leisure, said: "The few changes we made - opening more box offices, not serving drinks in plastic bottles and dispensing with a token system - worked really well and I'm really looking forward to the next match."
Greater Manchester Police said three people were arrested for minor offences.
