Second teenage soldier dies after Hampshire car crash

A second soldier has died after the car he was in came off the road and crashed into a tree in Hampshire last week.

Nicholas Bushell, 17, and from Blackpool, died at Kings College Hospital in London on Sunday.

Lee Smith, 18, of Northern Ireland, died at the scene in Whitehill Road, in Standford, Bordon, on 15 June.

A third soldier, an 18-year-old man from Paignton in Devon, suffered serious life-threatening injuries and remains in hospital.

Another passenger, also a soldier and aged 17, escaped with minor injuries.

Police have appealed for witnesses.
