A driver from Essex has died in a collision between a car and a van.
The white and turquoise-coloured Iveco box van and a blue Ford SportKa collided on the A133 Colchester Road in Great Bentley at 0815 BST.
Police said the driver of the car, believed to be a young woman from Colchester, died from her injuries.
The road has been closed while police investigate the scene and is not expected to be reopened until later, a spokesman said.
