Dorset Police will focus on "one of the county's busiest routes" in a one-day operation to reduce road casualties.
The Dorset Road Safe partnership's 'no excuse' campaign will take place on Wednesday along the A35, A3049, A348, A341 and A3060.
Officers will target the "fatal four" offences, police said.
These are speeding; distractions such as using mobile phones whilst driving; not wearing a seatbelt; and driving under the influence of drink or drugs.
A spokesperson for Dorset Police said: "Anyone caught not wearing a seatbelt, while driving on the route during the day, will be given the opportunity to attend a free education course in place of a £60 fine.
"Anyone who refuses will have to pay the fine.
"All other offences detected on the day will be processed as normal, with either an education option, fixed penalty or court hearing, depending on the criteria."
Of the year-long, 'no excuse' project, a spokesperson for Dorset County Council added: "Since January, teams have detected more than 8,000 offences across Dorset.
"In May, Dorset Road Safe launched a surprise 'Surround a Town' operation in Dorchester.
"A total of 287 driving offences were detected on the day, including 61 people who committed seatbelt offences."
