Why Britain has become the cruise capital of Europe
The tough economic climate has failed to dampen Britain's holiday spirit it seems - one sector that is growing faster than the rest of the UK economy is the cruise industry.
Figures out from the Cruise Lines International Association show the industry was worth £2.5billion in 2012, and with more than 65,000 employees it is now the biggest cruise market in Europe.
David Dingle, Chief executive of Carnival Cruiselines UK, believes cruises are popular because of their link to British history.
He told BBC Radio 5 live's Wake Up to Money, "We have a very long maritime heritage, we're very close to the sea, very well connected, and I think it's in our blood."
