Mouse droppings, out-of-date food and dirty conditions led to a fine at Edmunds Fine Dining in Brindleyplace
A Birmingham restaurant has been fined £5,300 after inspectors found mouse droppings and a "dirty" kitchen.
Environmental health officers visited Edmunds Fine Dining in Brindleyplace in January 2015.
They said the kitchen conditions posed "an imminent risk of injury to health" and closed the restaurant. It has since reopened with a top hygiene score.
Owners Casamou Limited admitted nine food safety and hygiene breaches at Birmingham Magistrates' Court earlier.
In addition to the fine, the company was ordered to pay £1,830 in costs.

The restaurant was inspected again in March 2015 and awarded a Food Standards Agency rating of five - the top possible score.
Barbara Dring, Birmingham City Council's licensing and public protection committee chairman, said: "Edmunds is a place diners often go to for a special occasion, so they would not expect the safety of its food or cleanliness of its kitchen to be questioned.
"This case shows even the most reputable or popular restaurants can have sub-standard practices."
Edmunds Fine Dining was unavailable for comment.
