Head teacher: 'We should extend school meals'

More than 40 leading health professionals have signed a letter calling on the government not to scrap free school meals for infants in the first three years of school in England.

There are concerns that the scheme - championed by Nick Clegg within the former coalition government - is not protected and is likely to be cut.

Mark Tuffney, head of Lowther Primary in Barnes, says schools meals should be extended, not cut back.
