The Guardian columnist Hadley Freeman thinks films were better in the '80s than today. Some of you have been in touch to share your views:
Not long to go now before the annual Eurovision jamboree kicks off with the first semi-final tomorrow night.
In case you were wondering, the UK gets automatic qualification as one of the biggest financial contributors to the European Broadcasting Union.
The UK's hopefuls, Electro Velvet, have now revealed their costumes for the big final. It's probably not very clear from the picture below, but we're told they're "state of the art LED costumes" that will illuminate in time to their song Still in Love With You.

“The whole Eurovision experience has been illuminating for us and we can’t wait to literally light up on stage in front of the entire world - it’s going to be electric!” the duo said.
Rules state only six people are allowed on stage during each act, so Electro Velvet will be accompanied by four "backing artists" who will also be sporting LED outfits.

Guardian columnist Hadley Freeman has written a book about why she thinks films from the 1980s are better than the movies of today.
Freeman says she was taught more about life from watching these films than from books or school and argues Pretty in Pink and Sixteen Candles should be put on school syllabuses immediately.
She spoke to Today about how current box office hits lack the sort of issues addressed in movies from three decades ago.
After posting the images from the James Bond Spectre filming earlier, some of you have commented on the stunt double's resemblance (or lack of) to Daniel Craig.
More details about Ricky Gervais's David Brent movie have been released by BBC Films - with Life on the Road due to hit cinemas in August 2016.
Set 12 years after the end of The Office, paper merchant Brent has moved on to selling cleaning products, while never giving up on his dreams of rock super-stardom with his band Foregone Conclusion.
Image source, Rich Hardcastle"I’m so excited that the world will see what David Brent is up to now and where his future lies," says Gervais.
"This film delves much more into his private life than The Office ever did and we really get to peel back the layers of this extraordinary, ordinary man."
Gervais will direct and star in the film as well as writing the script - and some new songs. But fear not, that old favourite Free Love Freeway will still be making an appearance.
Celebrity cook Nigella Lawson is to announce the results of the UK's televote at the Eurovision Song Contest this weekend. The star confirmed reports on Twitter yesterday.
It's perhaps a somewhat odd choice of spokesperson, as previous years have seen more musical faces give the result including Radio 1 DJs Scott Mills and Fearne Cotton, Blue's Duncan James and former UK entrant Cheryl Baker.
Image source, ReutersA pretty epic night for Taylor Swift, who won eight Billboard Music Awards in Las Vegas last night including top artist, top female artist and the billboard chart achievement award.
She also opened the show with the video for her new track Bad Blood, before appearing on stage with its stars - singer Zendaya, models Martha Hunt and Lily Aldridge and actors Hailee Steinfeld and Ellen Pompeo - to introduce the first performer of the night, Van Halen.
Image source, GettyThe night's other winners included One Direction - who won top group and top touring artist. Liam Payne tried to put aside those rumours of animosity between the band and former bandmate Zayn Malick, dedicating their gong to "our brother, Zayn".

Image source, Universal PicturesPitch Perfect 2 has topped the North American box office in its opening weekend, taking $70.3m (£44.7m).
It's a massive total, considering it only cost $29m to make and the first Pitch Perfect film only made $65m over its entire run in 2012.
Mad Max: Fury Road opened at number two with $44.4m - not bad for a film rated R, which means anyone under 17 can only watch it if they go with a parent or guardian. The Pitch Perfect sequel is rated a more free-for-all PG-13.
