'Not a political statement'published at 15:59
The BBC's head of religion and ethics has published a blog post in which he defends filming a Songs of Praise episode at a Calais migrant camp.
The programme, Aaqil Ahmed writes, was not intended as "a political statement" but was "simply reflecting the conversations going on in many churches and Christian households around the country".
Quote MessageSongs of Praise is not only about Christian music. It also explores contemporary issues and modern themes from a Christian perspective."
