Fierce Panda has signed Pesky! - a seven-piece indie-pop band from Ulverton, Cumbria. Hardly anything unusual about that... until you learn that all the members are aged 11 and 12. 

They're too young to tour, and the record label - which launched the careers of Coldplay and Keane - has constructed an "anti-marketing campaign" to make sure the youngsters' faces aren't plastered all over billboards. 

The video for their new single, Keep Me, even features the preteen septet in animated form.

But BBC Breakfast managed to grab a few words with the band in person, as they gear up for the physical release of their first EP, Smells Like Tween Spirit, in October.

The Great British Bake-Off star Sue Perkins has just signed off the final proofs of her autobiography, and tweeted the results.

But do you think she noticed the tiny error on the front cover?

The comedian, who rose to fame as part of a comedy double-act with Mel Giedroyc, has gone on to write for French and Saunders and appeared on programmes including Light Lunch, Supersizers and Celebrity Big Brother.

The blurb for the book says: "Sadly, a recycling 'incident' destroyed the bulk of my childhood stuff that my mum had kept. This has meant two things: firstly, Dear Reader, you will never get to read a poem about corn on the cob. Secondly, it's left me with no choice but to actually write this thing myself.

"This, my first ever book, will answer questions such as 'Is Mary Berry real?', 'Is it true you wear a surgical truss?' and 'Does orchestral conducting simply involve waving your arms around?'

"Most of this book is true. I have, of course, amplified my more positive characteristics in an effort to make you like me."

Perkins' memoir is due out on 8 October - otherwise known as "Super Thursday", when all the big publishers flood the bookshelves with Christmas stocking-fillers.

The first trailer for 20th Century Fox's latest retelling of Mary Shelley's Frankenstein has just been uploaded to YouTube.

Starring James McAvoy as the scientist and Daniel Radcliffe as his devoted protege Igor Strausman, the movie focuses on their relationship just as much as the famed monster (although we get a glimpse of him, too).

Former Voice judge Kylie Minogue is getting excited about seeing Boy George on the next series of the BBC One talent show.

Gary Lineker will enter the Theatre of Dreams tonight as he makes his debut fronting BT Sport's coverage of the Champion's League. Fellow former footballers Rio Ferdinand, Paul Scholes and Glenn Hoddle will join Gary in the studio, while Ian Darke and Michael Owen will be commentating.

Lineker will continue to host Match of the Day for the BBC.

New Zealand comedy duo Flight of the Conchords have been pretty busy since calling time on their cult HBO sitcom in 2009.

Bret McKenzie won an Oscar for the song "Man or Muppet", while his partner Jemaine Clement appeared in Men In Black, Rio and the vampire mockumentary What We Do In The Shadows.

But they're finally reuniting to make a film about their hapless, hopeless rock band.

"We have actually started writing [a film]," Clement told Indiewire.

However, he added: "Who knows if it will ever be made, we’ve written some notes for some different film ideas. We’re not down to the stage where we’re going, 'The film is going to be like this,' it could be this, this, this, this, this."

Little Mix popped up on James Corden's US chat show last night, where singer Perrie Edwards was asked about her recent split from Zayn Malik.

"It's been a tough few weeks, are you alright?" Corden asked the star, giving her an affectionate cuddle.

"Do you know what?" she replied. "I'm good."

"I wake up every day and I thank my lucky stars I have these three girls."

The band then performed their hit single Black Magic - dancing through the studio audience before being accosted by four escapees from a nearby gym.

"I am done obeying orders, Phil. I need your help and I don't have much time." 

With those brief words, Kathy Beale made her formal return to EastEnders last night. 

One of the soap's longest-running characters, she debuted in the very first episode and survived until 2006 when she was - supposedly - killed off in a car crash. 

Little is known about her return, never mind her resurrection, but 6.2 million people tuned in to watch Gillian Taylforth reprise her role in last night's episode. 

Pictures released by the BBC show that her reappearance isn't completely welcome - with her ex-husband Phil Mitchell locking her in a garage while he works out how to break the news to their son, Ben.

Meanwhile, over on ITV, 7.2 million people watched Paddy McGuiness' debut as "outdoors enthusiast" Dougie Ryan on Coronation Street.

The British Museum is celebrating its inclusion in the Lonely Planet's Ultimate List of places to visit. It came in at a very respectable 15. Top 10 entries included the temples of Angkor in Cambodia, which took top spot. The Great Barrier Reef, The Great Wall of China and The Grand Canyon National Park.

As you can see, the Thor star won't just be answering phones for the all-female phantasm fighters.

Variety magazine reports, external "insiders" as saying Sony Pictures initially offered the Australian actor one of the film's only male roles but he passed because it "was too small". 

"Since then Sony reworked the script so the part was beefed up," it adds.

The Voice's newest coach, Boy George, has expressed his admiration for Sir Tom Jones after the Welsh star was dropped from the judging panel.

George tweeted:

"I have absolute respect for Tom Jones. The man is an absolute legend. Huge fan!" 

Sir Tom revealed last week that he was told "with no consultation or conversation of any kind, that I would not be returning" to The Voice - before describing the behaviour of the BBC executives involved as "sub-standard".

In response to Tom's comments, the BBC said: "The final decision on the coaches line up for series five of The Voice was only taken on Wednesday and Tom's team was informed early yesterday (Thursday) morning.

"We then announced it to the press so that it didn't leak. This has been the same every year and no role was ever promised."

The cast of Emmerdale has reacted with shock and grief to the news that their co-star Kitty McGeever has died, aged 44.

McGeever played the forthright Lizzie Lakely from 2009 - 2013, and was the first blind actress to be cast in a British soap.

The actress and stand-up comedian had suffered serious health problems for years, including diabetes and kidney failure. 

She died on Sunday night, surrounded by her family, said Emmerdale's producers in a statement.

Many of her soap opera colleagues paid tribute on Twitter.

BBC Breakfast's weather presenter Carol Kirkwood has just been unveiled as the sixth contestant on this year's Strictly Come Dancing.

The 53-year-old will swap storm clouds for sequins in September - but she doesn't rate her chances.

"I can't dance, I've only done country Scottish dancing so I don't have a favourite dance, but I like the look of ballroom," she said.
