'I don't know why I'm a Radio 1 Teen Hero'

Shannon was 17 when her dad left, leaving her homeless. She found a space in a hostel and applied for a job at a volunteer centre which helps young people find employment.

She got that job but says she doesn't know why she was nominated for a Radio 1 Teen Hero award.

Her boss, who nominated her, says that's part of why she's so special.

She tells Newsbeat her story.
