Mmm, there's definitely a likeness, no?
He's solved crimes, he's cracked the Enigma Code, now there's a new mission for Benedict Cumberbatch - he's coming to steal all your Christmas presents.
The Sherlock star has been cast as the voice of the Grinch in a new film from Illumination Entertainment.
If you're not familiar with the classic story by American writer Dr Seuss, it's about a mean, green creature who lives on a snowy mountain and has a heart that's "two sizes too small" so he steals Christmas from the happy people of nearby Whoville.
Don't worry, we won't spoil the ending for you, which is coming to give you a whole stocking full of festive spirit in November 2017.
This isn't the first time that the Grinch has been brought to life on screen. Jim Carrey starred in a live-action version back in 2000; there's also a cartoon version and even a couple of video games based on the story.
We don't have many details about this new film as yet; it's just been announced at CinemaCon in Vegas. But it's reported that Audrey Geisel, the widow of the legendary Dr Seuss himself, will be on board as executive producer.
Benedict seems made for the role. He's got form as a CGI voice after his turn as Smaug in the Hobbit films: another mean character who lives in a cave and doesn't like other people getting presents.

Totally thinking about stealing some presents here
We already know from Sherlock he's not great with gifts either. Remember the huge awkwardness when lovely Molly Hooper turned up at 221B Baker Street with a beautifully-wrapped present for him?
And we can definitely see a likeness in the first publicity photo that's been released as well. Nobody else cocks an eyebrow quite like that, do they? Roll on the Christmas after next.
