Florida is still reeling from the biggest mass shooting in recent US history.

Forty-nine people were killed and 53 injured at the Pulse gay nightclub in Orlando on Saturday night.

But a specialist team has been dispatched to Orlando to provide relief.

A group of comfort dogs went to the city on Tuesday to help out anyone affected by the shooting and were accompanied by a team of volunteers.

The dogs are provided by Lutheran Church Charities. They say they are working with hospitals to help the injured as well as first responders from Orlando's emergency services.

"Your blood pressure goes down when you pet a dog, you feel more comfortable and people end up talking.

"They're good listeners, they're non-judgmental and they're confidential."
