Could your umbrella become a rain gauge?
A Dutch scientist has come up with a prototype of an umbrella that is also a rain gauge.
Rolf Hut from Delft University of Technology says that a smart brolly, which would send information to a computer via a phone, could help researchers who rely on a dwindling number of scientific rain gauges.
He explains how his prototype - which uses a child's umbrella - works.
