European Space Agency given €10.3bn

The European Space Agency will get €10.3bn (£8.9bn; $11.1bn) in funding to support its activities into the next decade.

Member state research ministers approved the monies at a meeting in Lucerne, Switzerland.

A key decision they made was to press ahead with the ExoMars rover, which is being developed to land on the Red Planet in 2021.

Esa director general Jan Woerner discussed the approval with our correspondent Jonathan Amos.
