Coronation Street actor William Roache has been cleared of rape and indecent assault charges by a jury at Preston Crown Court.
His Coronation Street character Ken Barlow had an enduring reputation as a womaniser and has been involved in 25 on-screen relationships, including three marriages.
Off screen, the actor has for a number of years attended weekly meetings of the Circle of Love group - a non-religious spiritual group which extols pure love.
