BBC DJ David Lowe loses job over racist word in song

A veteran BBC local radio presenter has lost his job after playing a 1930s version of The Sun Has Got His Hat On without realising the recording contained a racist word.

David Lowe said it was an innocent mistake and the BBC later acknowledged it could have handled the situation better and offered him his job back.
