100th birthday party for Winnie after BBC appeal

A woman from Sheffield who was facing her 100th birthday alone because she had no surviving relatives, has celebrated the day in style at the local city hall.

A surprise party was held for Winnie Blagden after a BBC Radio Sheffield appeal asking people to send her birthday cards resulted in 16,000 cards being sent from all over the world.
