Two British teenagers have been arrested in Magaluf on suspicion of raping an 18-year-old woman.

The attack on the woman, also from the UK, allegedly took place in a tourist apartment at the Spanish resort at about midnight on Tuesday.

The Guardia Civil said it is believed that the woman went to the flat with the men - aged 19 and 18 - where she alleges the rape occurred.

The Foreign Office confirmed two British men had been arrested in Spain.

The woman was taken to hospital and the two suspects were arrested shortly afterwards.

A Foreign Office spokesman said: "We can confirm the arrest of two British nationals in Spain on 19 August. We are providing consular assistance".

The incident comes after two British police officers were sent to Majorca last week to assist police at the holiday destination.
