Sir Stephen House to quit as Scotland's chief constable

Scotland's Chief Constable of Police, Sir Stephen House, has announced that he is to step down earlier than planned.

Sir Stephen has been head of Scotland's single police service since it was formed two years ago, and will leave in three months time.

He has been under severe pressure over the three days it took his officers to respond to a fatal crash on the M9.

Lorna Gordon reports.
