Michael Geffken died a short time after being attacked at the house
A teenager from Luton is to stand trial accused of murdering a German national who had lived in the UK for many years.
Ryan Curtis, 18, from Gilderdale, pleaded not guilty at Luton Crown Court to the murder of Michael Geffken, 42, at a New Year's Eve party.
Mr Geffken was stabbed at his partner's house in Helmsley Close, in Hockwell Ring, Luton, early on New Year's Day.
A post-mortem examination confirmed he died from a heart attack following a stab wound to the chest.
Mr Curtis was remanded in custody following a plea hearing and will appear for trial on 23 July.
Police and an ambulance were called to an incident at the property just after 03:00 GMT but Mr Geffken died of his injuries a short time later, the court was told.
