Thames Valley Police officer sacked over pornographic tweets

A police officer has been sacked for gross misconduct after posting numerous offensive and pornographic images on his personal Twitter accounts.

PC James Ferguson, a patrol officer in High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire, denied the charges at a misconduct hearing on Wednesday.

He was dismissed without notice.

Deputy Chief Constable John Campbell, of Thames Valley Police, said PC Ferguson's behaviour fell short of the high standards expected.

"I hope that his dismissal sends a strong message to the public that we will investigate all reports of misconduct and deal robustly and swiftly with anyone who is found to have breached the standards expected," he said.
