Emergency repair work on a collapsed sewer will close a central street in Reading for two weeks.
Gun Street will be shut to all traffic from 0930 GMT on Wednesday while Thames Water carries out repairs.
There will be pedestrian access to all properties in Gun Street throughout the closure.
Pedestrians will also be able to walk through Gun Street to get to other parts of the town centre. It is set to reopen again on 25 January.
