Windsor and Eton relief road works halt for holiday

A £7m project to revamp the Windsor and Eton relief road ahead of the 2012 Olympics has been suspended over the bank holiday weekend.

Finishing touches to the scheme, including signs and landscaping, are due to take place in early to mid-May.

The Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead said it was not carrying out works during the traditionally busy time to help traffic flow.

The remaining work will be carried out during off-peak times.

Clarence roundabout is to be landscaped and traffic signals "fine tuned" before the project is completed.
