Ancient Koran manuscript goes on public display in Birmingham

A manuscript of the Koran, believed to date from the time of the Prophet Muhammad, has gone on public display in Birmingham.

The parchment is one of the oldest surviving Koran manuscripts in the world.

It was found in the archives at the University of Birmingham, which is now holding an exhibition in the Bramall Music Building at the Edgbaston campus until 25 October.
