The man's body was found in the street in the early hours
Four people have been arrested on suspicion of murder after a man was found dead in a Lake District street.
The body was discovered by officers called to Brookside, Lake Road, in Windermere, at about 02:04 BST following reports of an altercation.
Cumbria Police said officers were working to identify the victim.
Two local men aged 26 and 31, a woman, 48, and a 15-year-old female, both visitors to the Lake District, are being questioned.
Supt Rob O'Connor from Cumbria Constabulary said: "This death is still unexplained but detectives and officers are working hard to establish exactly what has happened.
"We would particularly like to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time or who heard an altercation."
