Chigwell Rise was closed for investigations for five hours following the jogger's death
A jogger has died after being hit by a car in Essex, police have said.
The woman, who was in her 40s and from the Woodford area, was struck by a car in Chigwell Rise just after 08:00 BST on Sunday. The car then hit a tree.
The jogger was pronounced dead at the scene. The road was closed for five hours while forensic investigations took place.
An 18-year-old man was arrested in connection with the crash and has been bailed until September.
