Car crushed after bin lorry hits car port in Colchester

An Audi car was crushed after a bin lorry hit a car port, causing the building to collapse.

It happened in Colchester, Essex on Wednesday afternoon.

The car's owner, Mario Kyriacou, said he was shocked and upset when he discovered his vehicle in such a state. It was parked outside a block of flats in Ranger Walk.

Colchester Borough Council, which operates the bin collections in the area, apologised and said the matter was being dealt with by insurers.
