Prominent neck tattoo clue to Gloucester sex attacker

Police searching for a man who subjected a teenage girl to a serious sexual assault say a prominent tattoo on his neck may help identify him.

The 16-year-old was attacked by a man falsely claiming to be a police officer, in Weston Road, Gloucester, late on Saturday night.

The tattoo is in a dark colour and covers the right and back of his neck.

The offender is described as white, in his 30s and 5ft 8in tall. He spoke with a strong Gloucestershire accent.

He was also described as clean-shaven, had been wearing dark clothes and had a large bunch of silver keys attached to his waist.

Earlier on Saturday night the victim had been arguing with a female friend in Clarence Street before she walked off on her own.

She was approached by the man in Brunswick Road and the pair walked through Gloucester Park before he assaulted her in Weston Road, close to its junction of Stroud Road.

The offender then walked along Weston Road in the direction of Trier Way.

Detectives said they were studying CCTV footage from nearby security cameras and appealed for the public's help.
