Police investigating three sex attacks want to question the man

An e-fit has been released by police investigating a series of sex attacks in Gloucestershire.

The three incidents - in Gloucester, Cheltenham and Innsworth - saw women targeted in public places such as parks over a six-month period.

In two of the cases, the offender wore a balaclava during the attacks on women aged 16, 18 and 20.

Police said they were "keeping an open mind" about whether the man in the e-fit was who they were looking for.

Det Sgt Angela Middlewood said: "We would nevertheless like to speak to him to see if he can help the investigation.

"We are carrying out a painstaking and thorough investigation into these offences and I would appeal to anyone who recognises this man or who has information that could help our investigation to come forward."

In the first attack, in the Hester's Way area of Cheltenham in November 2011, an 18-year-old girl was grabbed by a man in the Welch Road playing field before being sexually assaulted.

In January a 16-year-old girl was walking near the A40 in Innsworth when she was approached by a man who indecently assaulted her and stole her phone.

Then in May, a 20-year-old woman was raped in grassland close to the Clock Tower building in the Abbeymead area of Gloucester.

Police said a reward of up to £1,000 may be given for information leading to an arrest and charge.

Two men from Gloucester who were arrested in connection with the attacks have been released on bail.
