A University of Gloucestershire admissions officer has started a challenge to walk the 220 miles of the River Severn in eight days.
Darren Leader is planning to follow the route from its source at Plynlimon, Wales, to the mouth of the Severn.
Mr Leader aims to raise funds for the university's Sport Malawi project.
The cash raised will be used to help the project which uses sport to reach and educate people about gender equality, poverty and HIV.
During the trek he will be travelling 27.5 miles a day (43.3km) carrying his food, water and tent - and his progress can be <link> <caption>tracked online</caption> <altText>Link to Google map</altText> <url href="http://217.174.252.207/waplinks/default.aspx?name=194616" platform="highweb"/> </link> .
