Cheltenham shot swan George back on Pittville Park lake

George the swan, who was shot with a crossbow, has been released back on to Pittville Park lake in Cheltenham.

The bird was treated at Vale Wildlife Hospital and Rehabilitation Centre near Tewkesbury after he was discovered with a crossbow bolt through his head last week.

Police said a 48-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of injuring a swan.
