Sixteen guns, ammunition, silencers and other accessories were seized in the raid
Two men have been jailed after two holdall bags of firearms and ammunition were found in a Southampton flat.
Officers carried out a raid in Albion Towers, Golden Grove, in October as a result of an intelligence led warrant.
Peter Castle, 46, and Thomas Graham, 43, were arrested and later pleaded guilty to numerous counts of possessing firearms and ammunition.
They were jailed at a hearing at Southampton Crown Court.
Castle, of Alder Road, Southampton, was sentenced to eight years. Graham, of Golden Grove, Southampton was jailed for five years.
All weapons seized by police were also forfeited.
'Criminal purpose'
During the raid 16 firearms, including an old fashioned duelling style pistol, an "English Bulldog" revolver and a sawn-off shotgun were seized.
More than 1,500 rounds of ammunition, silencers and other accessories were also found.
Det Insp Ellie Hurd, of Hampshire Constabulary, said: "This haul of firearms was being stored at the flat.
"We have no evidence to suggest that the weapons have been involved in recent crime; however the fact that many were operational and stored with ammunition suggests they had a criminal purpose, although not necessarily for use in Southampton.
"These firearms, which obviously pose a significant risk to members of the public, have been removed from potential circulation within organised crime groups and will now be destroyed."
