Flybe announces Southampton to Hamburg flights

Direct flights between Southampton and Hamburg are to begin, regional airline Flybe has announced.

The company intends to run daily flights from October.

Flybe said the route would connect "two important business and cruise-ship ports" and would benefit the local marine and aerospace sector.

The airline, which has reported its first pre-tax profit in four years, is also extending its flight schedule from Southampton to the Mediterranean.
