It is understood the inflatable RIB was the tender for the larger motorboat
A man has died after being found unconscious in the sea following an incident involving two boats off the Isle of Wight.
The man was rescued in Osborne Bay shortly after 17:00 BST on Friday after a Mayday call from a large motorboat.
He was flown to hospital on the island but later died.
Two other people were rescued from the water by a passing yacht. They are not believed to be seriously injured.
It is understood the inflatable RIB was the tender for the larger motorboat, which has been named locally as True Blue.

The motorboat was brought into Cowes escorted by a police launch
The RNLI said a water-jet powered RIB was towed from the scene by Cowes lifeboat. It is not known how many crew had been onboard the vessel.
The motorboat, which had about 12 people onboard, was brought into Cowes by its own crew escorted by a police launch.
The incident has been reported to Marine Accident Investigation Branch, external (MAIB)
Hampshire Constabulary's Marine Unit is also investigating.
