Traditional start for Hull's annual fair

Hull's annual funfair was opened by the traditional ringing of a bell by the city's Lord Mayor.

More than 500,000 people are expected to attend the week-long event which is held in the city's West Park.

Hull Fair dates back to 1293 and is one of the largest in the UK.
