Edward Lowe pleaded guilty to the rape at Grimsby Crown Court
A man imprisoned for four historical indecent assaults and a rape has been sentenced to a further eight years after admitting raping another 12-year-old girl.
Edward Lowe, 70, formerly of Elswick Gardens, Barton, was jailed for 12 years in 2013 for offences dating back to the late 1970s.
Humberside Police said after his conviction the girl came forward claiming he had raped her in 2012.
He was jailed at Grimsby Crown Court.
Lowe, currently in Parkhurst Prison, will serve the additional eight years consecutively, meaning he is facing 20 years in jail.
Det Con Mark Lilleyman, who led the investigation, said: "This was an excellent decision to run this case by the CPS reviewing lawyer, as it was clearly in the public interest to significantly extend this offender's sentence."
