The 17-year-old boy is in a "critical but stable condition" following emergency surgery at hospital.
A teenager who was found with two stab wounds at a Kent railway station is now in a critical condition in hospital.
British Transport Police (BTP) discovered the 17-year-old at Gillingham station on Tuesday after being called to reports of a fight onboard a London-bound train.
Following emergency surgery at Medway Hospital his condition was initially said to be "stable but serious".
On Wednesday afternoon his condition was said to have worsened.
A spokeswoman for BTP said: "The victim of this attack is now in a critical condition in hospital."
She added: "We believe that up to three black men may have taken a taxi from Gillingham to south-east London shortly after the stabbing took place.
"We would very much like to hear from any taxi driver or company in the Medway area, who undertook such a journey last night "
Gillingham station was closed temporarily while officers gathered forensic evidence and handed back to the station operator at 01:11 BST.
