Tudor Tofoi will have to serve at least 10 years of his 15 year sentence before he can be considered for parole
A man has been jailed for 15 years for the rape of a woman in Dover on Christmas Day.
Tudor Tofoi, 21, of High Street, Dover was sentenced at Canterbury Crown Court after being found guilty on 8 July.
The woman was attacked in the early hours of 25 December as she walked along Castle Street after a night out. She was dragged into a garage area in Stembrook by two men.
One of the men was identified as Romanian-born Tofoi, Kent Police said.
After leaving the country he was brought back to the UK by his mother before being arrested.
Tofoi was told he must serve at least 10 years before he can be considered for parole and will be on licence for a further three years. He will remain on the sex offenders register indefinitely.
Det Insp Lee Whitehead of the Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate said: 'This was a violent and cowardly attack on a vulnerable lady."
A spokesman for Kent Police said the force was working with the Crown Prosecution Service to return a second suspect to the UK.
"The two are known to each other," he said.
