A man is being treated for serious head injuries after he fell from a pram during an organised race event.

The 52-year-old was taken by air ambulance to a London hospital after he was injured at the annual Sutton Valence pram race, near Maidstone.

Emergency services were called to the scene in the High Street at about 12:30 GMT on New Year's Day.

Kent Police said it had carried out inquiries into the incident and there were no suspicious circumstances.

Thousands of people turned out to watch the annual event, which raises money for charity.
