Mountsorrel Railway opens as a heritage passenger line

Mountsorrel Railway in Leicestershire has reopened after being dormant for 50 years.

It was originally an industrial steam line used for transporting granite from quarries around the Leicestershire village, but has reopened as a heritage railway for passengers.

Mountsorrel Railway project leader Steve Cramp said it became a unifying project for the community.
