A bus operator is threatening to stop running services in parts of Bolton, after an attack on a passenger.
The 571 service was pelted with glass bottles and had one if its windows smashed in the incident, in Great Lever last Friday.
A 71-year-old passenger was then headbutted, kicked and punched in the face, said the bus company.
Gary Hawthorn, Managing Director of Maytree Travel, said it was the latest in a series of attacks.
"We've had several attacks on our buses over the last few months - no injuries until Friday night," said Mr Hawthorn.
"Withdrawal would be the last resort, as we don't really want to do that - we may divert around the area and try to serve it as best we can."
Pc Huw Williams, who is investigating the attack, said: "This was a totally unprovoked attack on a man on his way home.
"He got off the bus and was attacked by two men. They kicked and punched him leaving him bleeding on the ground."
