Merseyside Police are appealing for information after a shooting in Litherland.
Officers were called at 20:15 GMT on Monday to reports a man had been shot outside a house in Chelsea Road.
They found a 20-year-old man with pellet wounds in his lower back, which they say is "consistent with a shotgun discharge".
Police said his injuries were not life-threatening and have stepped up patrols in the local area.
