The fire devastated a flat in Warrington
Five people have been rescued from a fire believed to have been caused by a heated mat for tarantulas.
The blaze broke out in a ground-floor flat on Froghall Lane, Warrington, at 05:45 BST, Cheshire Fire Service said.
The five residents were rescued from a second-floor window of the block of flats, from which 15 others had fled.
No injuries were reported although two tarantulas died in the fire, which is thought to have been sparked by an electrical fault.
