A security guard was targeted as he delivered cash to the Wavertree Asda supermarket
A security guard was robbed as he delivered money to a Liverpool supermarket's cash machine.
The guard had the cash box stolen after he was kicked in the legs and pushed to the ground by a man at Asda on Smithdown Road, Wavertree on Saturday.
People in the cash machine queue who witnessed the incident at 10:10 BST are urged to contact police.
The guard was checked at hospital and was uninjured but distressed by what happened.
The robber ran off towards Arundel Avenue.
Det Insp Rachel Wilson, from Merseyside Police, described it as "a brazen and calculated robbery in front of people doing their Saturday morning shop."
She said it was a very busy supermarket with taxis queuing outside the ATM and buses passing Smithdown Road and she urged witnesses to get in touch.
