A 29-year-old woman died after being hit by two cars in Corby.

She was walking across Oakley Road with a man at about 19:30 BST on Saturday when the accident took place.

The couple were hit by a red Daewoo Matiz before being struck by a silver Mercedes-Benz, police said.

The woman, from Corby, was taken to Kettering General Hospital, where she later died. The man, 28, was taken to University Hospital Coventry with serious injuries.

Police, who said both drivers remained at the scene, have appealed for further witnesses to the accident.
