Presenter Mark Dennison from BBC Radio Nottingham has spoken about his first comedy gig, last Friday, in aid of Comic Relief.

Mark said: "I think I had to be shoved on [stage] but I really enjoyed it, it was great."

Mark was one of 45 people from BBC Local Radio who took to the stage for Red Nose Day.

Comic Relief raised £74,360,207 on Friday, the highest amount ever reached in its 23 year history.

Mark, who performed for four-minutes at Just The Tonic Comedy Club, said it was like "a weight had been lifted off my shoulders" but still found the experience exciting.

"Once you get on there and get that first laugh, you can see how people get a buzz out of it," said Mark.

"[However] I'm not saying I would do it again!"

Mark was on stage with comedian Rufus Hound, who won Let's Dance For Sport Relief, with his spoof of Cheryl Cole's hit Fight For This Love.

"Rufus Hound is the nicest guy and really relaxed," said Mark.

"He had a few bits of last minute advice. He was 'Mr Chilled.'"
