A mystery attack in Derbyshire which left a man in hospital has been linked to two other incidents in Nottinghamshire in the same evening.
A 39-year-old man was found lying in Hayworth Road, Sandiacre, just before midnight on Friday.
He had head, face and chest injuries and is in a serious condition and has been unable to speak to police.
Earlier in Stapleford, a dog walker was confronted by two men and a 56-year-old was robbed and beaten by three youths.
The dog walker reported being confronted by men with an old-style Ford Focus. The same car was reportedly used when the 56-year-old man was assaulted in Hickings Lane at about 23:20 BST.
A similar vehicle was seen driving to Sandiacre, shortly before the man was found in the street.
